Pleasant Greeners
The Pleasant Greeners is a group that meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm for fellowship and sharing covered dishes, except November and December. While the focus is on people 55 years and older; anyone who is free and interested may come. For those of you newly retired; this is a wonderful way to meet people and enjoy a different aspect of our church. The Pleasant Greeners meet shortly after the Wednesday Bible meetings from 10:30 to 11:30 am. A few minutes is needed to set up for lunch after Bible study.
United Methodist Women
Pleasant Green UMW is an organized unit of women whose purpose is: To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons in Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation i the global ministries of the church.
Each year is busy for Pleasant Green’s UMW mission activity. Because of the great success of our major fundraisers, we were able meet our pledge to World Wide Missions of $5,000 through the Corridor District UMW. Our UMW generously gives support to mission ministries at Pleasant Green and the surrounding community. Some of these include PGUMC’s Afterschool Scholarships, PGUMC’s Graduates’ Scholarship Gifts, El Salvador Mission Trip, UMYF Mission Trip, Methodist Home for Children, Eno Fire Department, Central Elementary's Backpack Ministry, Urban Minitries, OCIM, and PGUMC’s VBS and Upper Room Devotionals. We are proud to announce that we achieved a Seven Star Unit status.
Pleasant Green Women is divided into the following circles:
Virgie Riley Circle - (Currently Inactive)
Dream Weavers - New circle for the next generation of faithful women to support important community initiatives through
fellowship and service.
Circle of Faith - ministry focused on Orange County schools and shut-ins
