UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH
Pleasant Green's United Women in Faith is an organized unit of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons in Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Each year is busy for Pleasant Green’s UMF mission activity. Because of the great success of our major fundraisers, we were able meet our pledge to World Wide Missions of $5,000 through the Corridor District UMW. Our UMW generously gives support to mission ministries at Pleasant Green and the surrounding community. Some of these include PGUMC’s Afterschool Scholarships, PGUMC’s Graduates’ Scholarship Gifts, El Salvador Mission Trip, UMYF Mission Trip, Methodist Home for Children, Eno Fire Department, Central Elementary's Backpack Ministry, Urban Minitries, OCIM, and PGUMC’s VBS and Upper Room Devotionals. We are proud to announce that we achieved a Seven Star Unit status.
There are also smaller, more intimate women’s circles within the larger UMW. Each circle has a particular focus:

There are also smaller, more intimate women’s circles within the larger UMW. Each circle has a particular focus:
- Circle of Faith - Ministry focused on local schools and our older members. This circle typically meets the third Thursday of the month, at either the home of one of the circle members or at a local restaurant.
Contact person: GeorgeAnn McCay – gmccay@nc.rr.com - Dream Weavers - New circle for next generation of faithful women to support important community initiatives through fellowship and service. This circle does not have a specific meeting day but sends out a poll monthly to gauge availability. This circle meets at either the home of one of the circle members or at a local restaurant.
Contact person: Julie McCay – juliepmccay@gmail.com - Eleanor Walker Circle - Ministry focused on backpack ministry at Central Elementary School in Hillsborough and other UMW missions such as Common Threads. This circle typically meets the third Monday night of the month at the church.
Contact person: Mary Ann Hamm – maryann.hamm@hotmail.com - Virgie Riley Circle – currently inactive
UNITED METHODIST MEN
Pleasant Green's United Methodist Men functions as an official organization for men within our local church to offer opportunities for spiritual and personal growth. These opportunities center on faith, family, fellowship, missions and community involvement. This core group of men works with the Pastor and church leadership to focus on the needs of our church and community. Our men address these needs through our time, talents and means. The focus is not only directed to those men who actively participate, but to all men within our church and community. The UMM goal is to engender an awareness of these needs and to show that while addressing these needs we can provide opportunities for both spiritual and personal growth.
The mission of UMM is to support and enhance spiritual and personal growth within all the men of our congregation while encouraging participation in the church family as a whole; and, beyond the confines of the church into the community. It is hoped that this mission will make for stronger Christian men who will be better men in both our church family and our community.

PLEASANT GREENERS
The Pleasant Greeners group meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 12pm - 1:30pm for fellowship and sharing covered dishes- except the months of November and December. While the focus is on people 55 years and older, all are welcome! For those of you newly retired, this is a wonderful way to meet people and enjoy a different aspect of our church. The Pleasant Greeners lunch follows Wednesday Bible Study 10:30 - 11:30 am.
