The Tay People of Lang Son

Current Mission   Tay People    University   Beyond

Food in Southeast Asia is a real treat.  Lots of fish and seafood, and a lot of rice and noodles.  The Pho is very popular and is prepared a number of ways.  They use all parts of the meat, so be prepared for bone and gristle!  Some dishes are quite tasty, their version of french bread is light and airy, great texture.  The bananas are very sweet, unlike the ones we get in the states.

We took a trip to the Mekong Delta and saw local dress and had local cuisine.  The Sampan ride started out and was very crowded.  Click HERE to see the boat ride.

A ride in the country side shows workers in rice patties, as long as caskets people yards.  Ancestor worship is popular, so there can be quite elaborate caskets in the countryside.
According to Wikipedia, Vietnam is one of the least religious countries in the world, with most people following folk religions.
